  How to Create Healthy Boundaries on Your Healing Journey Healing is a beautiful journey, but it can also be one of the most difficult. For many years, I believed it was my job to fix everyone and everything, and to keep the peace.   This often led to putting my own needs at the bottom of the list. Growing up in foster care, experiencing trauma, and navigating difficult relationships taught me that saying ‘yes’was just safer than saying ‘no.’ I spent decades carrying things that were never mine to carry. What I’ve discovered through my own healing journey is this: Healthy boundaries are not walls that keep people out, they’re doors that teach people how to treat us.     There was a time in my life when I thought learning only happened in school, through books, or by taking courses. As I’ve grown older, healed myself, built businesses, and connected with incredible people, I’ve come to realize that some of life's greatest lessons happen outside of a classroom. While higher learning is always valuable, lifelong learning is not about collecting certificates or earning degrees. Being a perpetual student of life is about being open to growth, embracing change, and learning from every experience life takes you on. Some lessons come easily, while others arrive with a new set of challenges to overcome, heartbreak, setbacks, and moments – ones that test our mettle and have us build our resilience muscles.
